Fabric Recommendations

Choose a fabric with enough strength to hold everyday belongings. Cotton canvas and denim are excellent options. Wool, jacquard and other structured fabrics may also be used when properly interfaced and finished before assembly.

Use a lighter fabric for the lining. Nylon and acetate linings are practical options and are generally easy to clean. The pattern can also be used for upcycling suitable sheets, pillowcases or tablecloths.

If you quilt the outer fabric, cut the lining pieces using the finished quilted outer pieces as your guide, because quilting may slightly reduce their final dimensions.
