<p>Sew a pair of high-rise pants with a subtle barrel-leg shape and practical carpenter details. Designed by Leila Knoll, the gender-neutral Cedar Pants combine a zipper fly with an elasticated back waistband, giving the waist a structured front and flexibility at the back.</p>
<p>Front and back patch pockets, double-layer knee fronts and a hammer loop bring a workwear look to the design. Inner knee darts and a crotch gusset add shaping and room for movement. Choose the carabiner-loop or belt-loop option described in the pattern instructions.</p>

<p>The size range covers body waist measurements of 23–55 inches (approximately 58.4–139.7 cm) and hips of 33–64 inches (83.8–162.6 cm). The pattern is drafted for a height of 5 ft 6 in (167.6 cm), with a 29-inch (73.7 cm) inseam.</p>
<p>Choose your size using the body measurement chart, then compare the finished garment measurements with your preferred fit. The finished waist measurement marked “stretched” is not the relaxed waistband measurement. Adjust length as needed for your height and intended hem position.</p>
<h3>Recommended fabrics</h3>
<p>Use midweight twill, denim or canvas, with or without stretch, in the recommended 5–10 oz/yd² range (approximately 170–339 g/m²). Fabric structure will affect the finished silhouette: firmer fabrics give more definition, while softer fabrics drape more gently.</p>
